Chapters 7 – 9

Papas with Ponytails

Chapter 7 – Alcohol & Freedom from Religion

“In my mind, if Jesus rejected me….then alcohol welcomed me with open arms!”

Chapter 8 – Recovery

“At a turning point in my life, I walked into my first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous in 1997. After one of my first meetings, I went home, opened a bottle of beer, drank a couple sips and threw it out.  I told myself, ‘I can stop after one drink; maybe I’m not a real alcoholic.’ Then, I proceeded to roll a joint and light it. I soon realized I could do without one vice only as long as I still had another.”

Chapter 9 – Fulfilling A Lifelong Dream

“Over the years, I always dreamt of going back to school someday and completing a college degree.”
